Roma 2-1 Salernitana: Chris Smalling’s late goal seals a comeback victory to keep Jose Mourinho’s squad in the hunt for a top-four finish in Serie A. Carles Perez had cancelled out Ivan Radovanovic’s thunderous strike before Smalling’s goal.

Ivan Radovanovic stunned Roma with a thunderbolt in the 22nd minute. Carles Perez scored his first goal of the season in the 81st minute. Chris Smalling scored the game-winning goal four minutes later.

With two goals in the final nine minutes, Roma improved its chances of finishing in the top four by defeating Salernitana, the team at the bottom of the standings.

Thursday in the Europa League, Jose Mourinho’s squad was humbled by the Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt.

Sunday’s 22nd minute thunderbolt from Ivan Radovanovic stunned Roma, who were unbeaten in their previous 10 Serie A contests.

Franck Ribery crossed a free kick to the Serbian midfielder, who then beat the goalkeeper with an unstoppable shot.

Carles Perez equalized for Roma in the 81st minute, and Chris Smalling scored the game-winning goal in the 85th.
